S'gans: Jeremy Mix and Max Tucker Moreh: Josh Getty Mazkir: Josh Schwartz Shliach: Roei Levi Gizbor: Eli Burstiner Sophers: Jordan Fox and Jeremy Rubin Congratulations again! Make us proud! Dear Manly Men,
This is going to be long, really long, so please bear with me. During Chapcon, there was no good time for me to do the state of the Chapter, so I guess this is what it will be, more or less. My brother Alephs, On this day, 1 year ago, I stood before you and I made a pledge to you, that no matter what happened, no matter how difficult the year would be, I would carry on the greatness of our chapter, the greatness which was built by men who came before me. Gentlemen, I can proudly say that we made it. Despite the zip code restrictions, despite the size of our AIT class, though they are small they are strong, despite the loss of last year's seniors who built us up, we have made it!! This year we taken strides that I never even thought were possible when I first stepped into this position. We had amazing programs, including not one but TWO Chapcons, our 2nd annual Hazakah Formal, and a rocking Hawks program attended by over 42 members and 8th graders! We raised over $400 for our Stand Up cause of Cancer research through bake sales and the Relay for Life of Ruach. We finally have put money into our bank account through some real, honest to god fundraising, like our 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and now we have over $450. Keep holding onto that money until we have substantial holdings, and use it to send more Alephs to conventions and summer programs, and to subsidize expensive events. You might be itching to spend it now, but hold on, I promise it will pay itself off. We have carried on our legacy of council supremacy this year with three members on the 86th Atlanta Council Board, and last week Alephs Cole Sonshein, Charlie Beau Burstiner, and myself were elected to serve on the 87th Atlanta Council Board. We could not be happier and I am excited to serve as your 1st Atlanta Council Mekasher. This summer, we will be sending 9 Alephs on summer programs, leaders in Hazakah and Atlanta Council who will come back even more knowledgeable and prepared to lead. I expect to see Hazakah send even more members on summer programs in 2016. To our senior class of 2015, good luck in college, and thank you for your service to the chapter. To Harrison Rubin, you have been incredible. Though you're experience in BBYO was shorter than most, you have made an impact that will live on for a long time. You have guided me through some tough decisions, and you have connected with our younger members, and for that I thank you. To Rob Straus and the boards of 2014-2015, y'all have been the most active passionate group of guys I have had the pleasure of working with. To Rob, you're the freaking man, man. Your levelheadedness and guidance has helped us to steer this chapter in the right direction. To next year's board, I wish the best of luck to all of you! Connor Flagel, congratulations man, you will do great things. You have a passion and work ethic that astounds me, and you will do great things for Hazakah. No matter what anyone says about you, know that you have the ability to lead this chapter. But always remain humble, and always keep an open mind to suggestions and creative criticism. Take this little bit of the following advice with an open mind: - Big programs are great, but don't forget about keeping the fraternity alive in Hazakah. Like Harrison said, sometimes the best events are the simple ones, just chilling out with the boys. - We need to recruit a larger stronger AIT class next year, ensure the safety of the chapter. - Make sure you are reaching out to EVERY member of Hazakah. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call to get someone back. (Almost done!!) Gentlemen, we have climbed the mountain, we took the hard path, we tested our power, and our will. We locked in a second Henry Monsky Award, a symbol of our unyielding excellence. It has been an absolute honor to serve on your board for the past two years, and it has been a privilege to lead you this year as your Godol. I made you a pledge, that we would continue to build this home, our home, into something even bigger. HAZAKAH IS MY HOME, forever and always. Thank you Fraternally submitted with an undying love for CLTC 007 2013, Atlanta Council AZA #55, the 87th Atlanta Council Board, I'M GODOL BITCH, and for my home and heart Hazakah AZA #2458, I forever remain, Aleph Jamie Alexander Schwartz A very proud Kohen Godol Hazakah hopes everyone had a GREAT time at Formal last night! We thought it was a blast! Thank you to all the Formal committee members who made this event possible!
